About Mike

As kids, we made things out of whatever we could find. Dad taught us how to pull old nails and straighten them - there was always something around to pull apart and hammer - old planks became tree-houses and we learnt about splinters. Using a brand new nail - hah! what a luxury!

Today, with a growing passion for our amazing Australian native timbers, I'm strongly committed to recycling anything that a tree ever grew - it's such a precious resource that is able to give so much pleasure.

Today, I use a mix of modern and ancient carpentry approaches - I respect the absolute precision of my Laguna table saw - but I love the crisp cut and feel of my 19th century bull-nose plane as I clean up a shoulder on a table tenon.

I create for fun - if you have an idea for something in wood, leather, copper or anything else, let's talk!
